How did we get into the photo industry?
Taylor: So the first question is, how did we get into the photo industry? I think it’s a good question just because you probably don’t know us yet, and I guess you should have some level of understanding of where we come from and kind of how we are.
Dave: Yeah, the discussion isn’t really going to be about the photographers. We’re going to have a lot of different photographers in here and what we want to do is really open this up to anybody. If you’re interested in being on the show, please mention it on our Twitter account and we’ll try to get some various people from around the globe on the show.
But for now, we just want to introduce ourselves. So I’m David – I’m a portrait and wedding photographer here in Toronto, Canada. I’m an Aussie originally, I’m going to be living in Canada and Australia in the years to come – starting in November – as I’m going back to get married. I started my photography career many, many moons ago when I was 13 or 14 years old, photographing nature and rock concerts [which] came later and then shooting street portraits was just something that I loved to do, and then travel photography and it bloomed and bloomed. I’ve done almost everything, but I’ve really settled into my groove with wedding and engagement photography – stuff like that.
Taylor: I’m Taylor, I’m a wedding photographer. I came from the same-ish area with rock concerts and that type of thing. It really got my interest [peaked] when I realized I could go to concerts for free to take pictures, and I got pretty stoked off that, and everything just grew from there. Those people that I shot in bands started getting married, and they needed a photographer, and I’m the one they knew
